Do you trust the diamond industry?

I wrote a poem about diamonds recently, and one of the responses was that diamonds have supposedly been regulated as far as how they are produced, for at least a year, maybe more.

And while I found some evidence to support this, there are a few problems remaining, the way I see it. First, how can we be sure that the body that regulates this has the same standards as we do? Second, with corporate abuse of law being what it is today, how can we expect that they will comply? Third, even if governmental authority is the reason for complicance, how is it enforced? If a corporation is found to be lying, do they just pay a fine?

So I am going ahead with this site, and I plan to determine the answers to these questions for myself, and share them with you. The fact that there is a documentary available on the Internet about this that is fairly new, tells me that this problem is not fully resolved… something is rotten in Denmark, and it’s not bad fish…
